What is the one thing which all online businesses dread?
No hits!
If you get very few visitors on your business’s
website, then you are in trouble, facing the very worst of scenarios- a
complete shutdown!
One of the tried and tested ways of getting out of
this situation and building up your online business is Network Marketing.
Yes, Network Marketing! Since this is a job which
requires constant interaction with new people, it is ideal for expanding the
reach of your business and proactively reaching out to a whole range of
prospective customers!
First thing you should do is registering yourself with
the DSA, the Direct Selling Association, so that your business gets that
credibility which will tide over any doubts of potential distributors and
buyers.
Then, start advertising for networkers. Put in ads in
online job portals, newspapers and local journals. Contacting training
institutes and registering yourself as a sponsor is another good idea, because
this way you are bound to get applicants.
It is very important to brief your agents or
distributors so prepare some easy to understand, simple literature on your
business’s aims and objectives and the products and/or services it offers.
Further, set practical, achievable deadlines for your distributors to meet so
that they always have that motivational boost to expose your business to a
greater range of clients.
Always remember that your agents or distributors are,
after all said and done, independent, autonomous units who do not draw any
salary from you. What they get is a consequence of the efforts they put in.
Therefore, never be overbearing or bossy in your demands. Encourage them to
take their own decisions, to establish a customer base and recruit even more
agents into your network. Asking them to open their own web portals is also a
good idea, for this will help them expand their reach not only with customers
but also with prospective recruits. Your business is in its infancy, so
generate lots of goodwill by trying to work with them rather than above them!
Lastly, always stay on the safe side of the law. It’s
very easy to cross the line and carry on illegal business activities in this
field but these things last only for a while. Exposure does come sooner or
later and when it does it destroys your reputation-and your business-irredeemably.
